I think the author did a superlative job portraying this first person perspective. Although sociopaths are known specifically for their lack of empathy -- and not that this author pulled any punches -- but it becomes obvious that the character's mindset comes with it's own pitfalls. I think this is where the narra This book is a quite original empathetic journey in the mind of a manipulative sociopath. I think this is where the narrative really shines All and all, a fascinating read. Not much of a plot, but this is more of a character driven piece and I found myself okay with the lack of a clear throughline.
These are both pulp noir classics with first-person sociopaths at the center. Jul 20, Slo rated it it was amazing. I really think the character amanda is just trying to survive living as a sociopath, I don't feel sorry for her but I think I know people like her.

Engaging book. The writing itself did not impress me as being particularly stellar, however, the subject matter was captivating. Quick read and worth the time. Jul 04, Heide rated it it was amazing. One of those horrid inhuman sinister psychopathic creatures keeps knocking at our door late at night. We had only met him once through one of our idiot desperate single friends. She brought him over to our house.
We stupidly allowed him to stay overnight with her. We later discovered he left behind his crackpipe! He was in prison for 8 years for murder. This is nice Canada How do we get rid of him without being slashed?
